A Surprise Shipment
The kids come to the door and say a big box has been delivered. I go outside and find a very big box with a paper taped to it that says, "Do Not Open With a Knife" It's all taped up (these pics were taken after the fact). Joy was inside :)

A Sad, Sad Story
Yes, these are meal worms on my kitchen table. Joy was the honored child who got to take them home for Spring Break. She was super thrilled, counting them daily to keep a record for her class.
After seeing them on my kitchen table, I politely asked that these please do this in the backyard on the picnic table. Seemed like a good idea.
They took their Littlest Pet Shop Playground out and the mealworms had a blast.
Joy was super excited to capture a picture of this one turning from meal worm into pupa for her class.
Unfortunately, the kiddos moved on to other things that day and the poor mealworms were left on the picnic table in the back yard - - - in the sun. They all turned black and died. My poor Joy wept and wept. I didn't know what to do but sit with her and hold her. It was truly sad. I caught her later in her room praying for God to bring them back to life.
Her teacher was sweet and sent Joy a precious, encouraging email - she got another batch of mealworms and again kept Joy in charge of them. Praise God for good teachers.

Mere Sillyness
These pics are all taken the same day. Just mere silliness...
I let the girls have an entire roll of scotch tape to play with - they taped their mouths, fingers, toes, legs and who knows what all.
And I was so happy to cook dinner during the taping.
There was guitar playing - Joy made this guitar on the fly with a toilet paper roll and shoe box.
And then, the Mr. Potato Head Parts were everywhere...
And then it was time for dress up. Glory is a shaggy dog I suppose with that hawaiin skirt on her head.
And here I think she is a bunny rabbit - with a great pom-pom tail. She's always chosen the most unique ways to dress up.
