The Periodic Table!

I love this beautiful girl and it's bitter sweet to see our last year of homeschool come near the end.  She wanted to invite her sociable, scientific schoolmates over to create a model of the periodic table out of sugar cookies.  So, we did.

The boys grilled us some hamburgers.

And voila!  The periodic table!  ALL substances on earth are created out of just these elements!  

How remarkable and elegant to have such building blocks.

Finally! Solved the Rubik's Cube

Blondie is not as excited as we are.

Freedom made awesome scores on his 5th grade STAAR test!  Thank you Freedom for working so hard to excel in school! 

Hail Storm of April 2016

So, it started hailing, and we opened the back door and reached out and grabbed some...then the kitchen window broke.

Kids collected more hail.

The back window was busted out of the van, and the front windshield was cracked all over.

I noticed that during the aftermath collection process, Freedom had put on some safety equipment.

When you're a kid, these sorts of things are fun and exciting.  

And, when you're a kid at heart, you run down the street to say hi to your BFF ... and then come home with an injured bird.  It's wing had been hit by hail.  There were lots of dazed birds walking around the next day.

Mouse Trap!!!

Well, Blondie was rooting around in the mulch at the back of the house like crazy.  Kids went to check it out and found a little nest of mice.  They caught 3 and boy were they cute!!!  They acted like little pets!

Blondie was SO proud of herself!  As she should be!
