What You'll Find in a Burgin House
Here are a few things you'll find in a Burgin House. I wouldn't have it any other way. This post makes me happy. Thank you Jesus.
You can't really tell what it is, but Glory taped this rubber eyeball and mouse to my front door. I have to tell you Glory, as soon as Halloween day was over, this baby came DOWN!
Nothing like coming home to a sign like this on the front door. :) I love you too Joy.
And the wreath - oh my - again the day after Halloween these home-made tissue paper, yarn hung ghosts came DOWN! :) Love you crazy kids.
Well, this little pan of outdoor collections has been sitting on the piano for weeks.
And this pot of red berries, Freedom sat on the sewing machine - probably a month ago.
Glory made this little lamb out of cotton, little clothespins and a black pipe cleaner. Again, this is one of her unique creations - no instructions were provided for this little lamb - it comes straight from her head. She insists it stand here and "worship baby Jesus with Santa" (her words).
And, what is cooking in the kid's microwave? Well, some little pieces of tinsel. I was told they were multiplying tribbles(they belong to Joy). And in the green bowl? A small balloon - with really big eyes painted on with markers on and one yarn taped to the top of its head. I have no idea who made this - Joy or Glory?
Joy's getting older, she doesn't have as much craziness going on in her room as Glory does. But, she does have this frog, hanging on to a ship.
And now, we're in Glory's room. Here are the two created Santas. For 2 weeks they stood at the Christmas tree until we cleaned house today - she found a spot for them in her room.
Now, Joy made this popcicle stick robot for Glory for her birthday. Freedom made her the lego "thing" sitting inside the robot. And this little green bear, he must enjoy the view on top of the chapstick.
And, we find this "molecule" of sorts made of marshmallows and toothpicks. Not sure what the foil is inside.
Glory made this little giraffe (from a kit) and this little angel (from a VERY advanced kit). Looks like the giraffe and angel have become friends.
And, these are silly putty slugs on the jewelry box. These go way back. When Joy was in 4th grade actually - she created a pet silly putty slug like this. One day she came home from school in absolute tears because she had accidentally thrown him away with her lunch tray. Wildly enough, I found him out on the curb in front of the house - he was making his way back home ;) Looks like he had lots of babies that made it to Glory's room and now inhabit her green miniature chest of drawers.
She has this pretty little carousel - these little koalas just love this thing - they can ride it for days on end. Maybe they are trying to set a Guinness World Record.
Glory has decided to tape some important notes on her dresser mirror.
They painted this little nativity scene last year. It was funny, this year when Joy sat it out she described it as "pitiful." She's growing up :(
And here is one of many foil sculptures you will find about. This is baby Jesus in a manger. Can't you tell? Glory's creation.
The kitchen cupboards - I get to choose the art for these! Beautiful pieces kiddos!
And this is the kitchen - look at the ceiling, do you see something up there. Here's a closeup:
It's going on 3 years. It's one of those sticky things that got thrown up there when Joy was in 3rd grade.
And, what in the world is this you might ask? I don't know - I just took a picture and took it down immediately. It's actually toilet paper. No one will own up to this one - but I keep hearing the name "Freedom" over and over in my head when I look at it.
Joy made this lovely piece of work in 4th grade.
And Glory has gifted our bedroom door with some Truth. :) The girls did have all sorts of pictures taped up there - mostly of Jon and I ballroom dancing. They all came down when we had our room painted :( I miss them.
And Joy made me this beautiful vase of flowers in 4th grade. Thank you Joy - they are beautiful.
Santa Clause, Is that You?
Glory grabbed a pillow, a couple of scarfs, a Santa Clause hat and a plastic bag...voila! It's Santa Clause! Glory, this is SO you and the sorts of things you do.
Joy decided to make a Santa Clause also - I'm not sure what all is inside, but I know it involves a water bottle, a blanket, her red shirt, my NEW brown belt and Freedom's hand-me-down hiking boots. Love it girls.
Glory decided Santa needed to be in a sled with a reindeer. Yes, there's Freedom - enjoying the creation.
Then, Glory decided he really did need his entire team of reindeer. On Dasher, On Dancer, On Prancer and Vixon! On Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen! Yes, There's Rudolph in the lead (yes, Glory made that stuffed dog a red nose) and yes, they are all there. This girl is amazing and she makes me smile.
This "assortment" of Santas sat around our tree for 2 weeks. Today we cleaned house and I told them they had to clean them up and put them away to make room for the presents.

The Gingerbread House
Grandma Burgin gave us a Gingerbread House again this year! This year, the girls did the icicles! Good job girls!
Freedom is making a snow man :)
Glory LOVED making the icicles!
Joy took a cereal break while Glo made icicles.
Beautiful Glory! You're so good with your hands.
Freedom, you did a great job covering the table with candies and eating some to ensure the house was not "overdone."
Joy did a great job with icicles, but she didn't enjoy it as much as Glory did.
I see you sneaking that icing & candy!
The finished product. It's beautiful! Thank you Grandma for the kit and thank you Joy, Glory and Freedom for making it! I loved it!
