Music of the Night

Joy had a sweet opportunity to sing with Memaw's church at their Broadway Comes to Bulverde event.  She sang "Music of the Night," which can be watched here.

Joy and some of the beautiful ladies in the choir.

Joy and Mr. Steve Angle.  Mr. Angle has been working with her off and on over the last many years and she wishes we lived closer so she could continue to do so on a regular basis.

First Day of School

Well, pictures are grainy, but we DID record the first day of school 2016!!!  Joy slept during the buzz of getting Freedom off.  Glory slept through all the buzz of getting Joy off to school. HOME SCHOOL ROCKS!!!  :) :) :)  The morning seemed to breeze by QUICKLY!!!  5th grade for Freedom, 8th grade for Glory and Sophomore year for Joy.

Breakfast table.

Took this boy to the doctor after school - he had a double ear infection.  He was TRYING to feel good on the first day of school.  Bless his heart.  After school, quoted as saying, "You know, the first day is pretty easy and fun.  They just tell you about all the rules you already know."

Excited Memaw spent the night for the first day of school this year!!!  Yay for Memaw!  Memaw headed out after Joy went to school.  Glory woke up and said, "Where's Memaw?"  Freedom got home from school and said, "Where's Memaw?"  Joy came home and said, "I guess Memaw is gone, huh."

My beautiful Sophomore!  ...and Blondie :)

BFFs!  Joy rode in with her BFF today!  Both gorgeous this morning!  Rebekah let Joy borrow her BRAND-NEW birthday shirt for the first day of school.  That's a TRUE friend.

And here's my Glory. I LOVE homeschool SO much.  I've got my personal secretary with me everywhere I go.  She's acting as secretary, handling emails and text on my behalf as Pack 829 Committee Chairwoman while I drive us down the road to exchange a cable box.  Yes, we had more than just "real-world" school today - Math (sets, unions and intersections!), Grammar (the importance of correct speech and writing - THE GOOD NEWS!), Science (converting between cubits and fingers) and History (what led up to WWI)!

Sweet mom/Brandeis teacher captured these sweet moments and sent them to me.  :)  Happy.

Reading

Something really special about reading to your child.   When Jon started this last year,  I caught Freedom singing one day to himself,  "he's going to read to me tonight.   He's going to read to me tonight."  It's just better when dad does it.

Port Aransas

Because when you see a big, beautiful, dead dragonfly, you must pick it up.

And when you see a pigeon with a deformed foot, you have to ache for it and feed it.

Because when you accidentally drive 30 minutes the wrong direction, you have to stop and check out the Historical Site. (Fulton Texas)

Because even though the ferry ride is only 5 minutes, you have to get out...

... and see the dolpins!!!!

Because games must be played...Bananagrams!!!!

...and sillouhettes assembled on sand dunes at sunset.

Because the ocean must be conquered.

And sand dollars sought after.

Because the safe parts of bright, blue, poisonous jellyfish must be touched.

And other odd creatures investigated at night.

...especially the last night.

Because clean, spiky hair attached to a sleepy, sun-kissed face must be photographed.

Because Coral Cay 217 must be remembered...

...as well as when a kid (Glory) is neat.

Because someone must be buried....

:)

...and risen!

Because crabs must be hunted...

...and held.

Because kites must be flown by kids...

...and adults.

Because holes must be dug and books must be read...

Because sand must be sculpted...

...into dolphins and girls.

Because the best on the planet...

...would be willing to share life with the likes of me!

Because awesomeness must be captured...

along with beauty

Oh, these pics make me happy!  Mine!  Missing Jon in this picture!
