What God Can Do With a Bunch of Stuff and Junk
Suzette thought a great way to raise money for Africa was to have a garage sale. People could donate their "stuff" to us and we could sell it at the upcoming neighborhood garage sale. This is the front of our house - the garage sale was AMAZING. God provided $3,070.79! I'm amazed at what God can do with a bunch of stuff and junk.
It's the same with ourselves. If we give Him all our "stuff and junk" he'll exchange it for something desired and valuable. He's cool like that.
Not to mention we had enough leftovers for a second garage sale the following weekend! That second garage sale brought in $231.51.
The second garage sale was another God Story. We had planned to have the leftover sale at a friend's house the following weekend (which happened to be THEIR scheduled neighborhood sale). Another friend called me and said she wanted to have a garage sale for me at her house that weekend and she wanted to give me the proceeds - HOWEVER - she had a family emergency and couldn't. She wanted to know if I could run her garage sale at her house. Soooo, I did run her garage sale (which brought in $281.55) and my friends ran my leftover garage sale ($231.55) at their house! I was so blown away.
I offered to pay for the permit and they both said no. One said, "Just think of it as another wink from Jesus." I will always remember that sweet comment - it sticks with me.
