Camp Tejas

The last week of July, Joy and I went to Camp Tejas and Memaw kept Glory and Freedom. Camp was a tiring and refreshing week for me all at the same time. It was tiring to be busy at camp for four days and apart from my own bed. The large blow-up "wedgie slide" was awful - and the trapeze was even worse. But truly, apart from the slide and trapeze, it was refreshing to get away from the world and even myself to only have to focus on serving 3rd grade girls for the week. It truly was an honor and privilege to be a "counselor" to God's young ladies. The worship services each evening were absolutely amazing.

Here's a picture of Joy and her best friend after they did the 50 foot zipline in the dark.

You will really enjoy the following pictures located at these links:
  • My prayer was for Joy to be freed from her fear of heights. The manifestation of the answer to that prayer was gradually seen, but not fully seen. Here she is, fixing to try the zip line during the day - look at her sweet face. She ended up going back down the ladder - http://camptejas.smugmug.com/gallery/8276690_NKKHH#605236512_A3nF
Memaw took Glory school clothes and shoe shopping. Here's some pics of some turtle pancakes they made and their new shoes :) THANKS Memaw and Papaw! You're such a blessing to my family!
