We go to Nanny's in Lamesa, TX with my mom every summer for at least a week. This year, we went right after dance camp. We added several new things to our summer routine - Back Yard Bible Club, swim team, Camp Tejas and dance camp, so our trip to Nanny's was cut short to only 4 sweet days. As always, thanks for driving Mom!
It's become our tradition to take Freedom to the barber shop every time we visit and get a crew cut. This is always Nanny's treat and we love it.

Before the cut. Expressions galore from Freedom filled the hair cutting process.

Here's some of his audience :) Pretty girls! They asked for a mohawk. Mr. Norman (the barber) said he would cut it anyway they wanted - but when he was done, it would be THEIR turn.

Post haircut picture. What a crazy, cute smile.

Under the traditional barber pole.

Joy wanted a picture with the handsome boy :)

Joy spent a half day buried in a book. "Dolphin Song."

It wouldn't be a trip to Nanny's if we didn't "mess and gaum" in the kitchen as Nanny puts it.

Eating Watermelon.

Aunt Lana made a puzzle comprised of pictures of the children - mostly from various parties at Nanny's house. We really enjoyed putting it together and celebrated the completed product despite Freedom's attempt to lose pieces.

As with every year, we have to spend some time on the backyard wall.

We made a couple of trips across the field to say hello to the cows this trip.
We didn't take enough pictures, but we enjoyed our time with Nanny, Aunt Deanie, M'Lyn and M'Lea. We got a short visit with Uncle Lowell and Aunt Connie. M'Lyn has grown up - notice she's not in any of the "kid pictures" - - - she's outgrown "messing and gauming." She's growing up into a beautiful young lady.
Wow, this pictures bring back old memories of when we were in Nanny's kitchen "messing and gauming". Nanny is the best and is loved sooo much!!
